Antwerp Green Tool

Developed in Belgium, the Antwerp Green Tool helps to gain insight into the effects of greenery on the living environment: air quality, heat stress, water management, noise perception, biodiversity, and carbon dioxide absorption. The tool can be used to discover the various measures that are possible: water softening, planting trees, shrubs, hedges or open green forms, green facades, and roof surfaces. The tool can be used by planners, planters, builders, designers, analysts, and maintainers.

This tool will help achieve the goal of the following objectives

  • Less Contamination
  • Less Emissions
  • Less Traffic Noise
  • Connectivity and Inclusion
  • Healthy Destinations
  • Less Traffic Violence
  • Active Transportation
  • Green Space

Estimation Technique

The Green Tool evaluates the effects of greenery on the living environment by taking into account a number of factors, including air quality, noise levels, temperature, humidity, and sunlight. By considering all of these factors, the Green Tool is able to provide a comprehensive assessment of how different types of greenery can impact the overall livability of an area.
In addition to its ability to evaluate the effects of greenery on the living environment, the Green Tool can also be used to assess the potential benefits of implementing green infrastructure projects by taking into account a number of different variables, such as carbon dioxide emissions, energy use, water consumption, and waste production. By doing so, the Green Tool can help municipalities and other organizations make informed decisions about which types of green infrastructure projects to pursue.
